I'm a real American now. Wanna know why? Because I've finally located, purchased, and ATE
Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream. It was yummy. A dose of truthiness in a delicious caramel & vanilla spoonful. I gotta tell you, I was craving this ice cream ever since
mongolbbq mentioned it a few months ago.
Watched
The Ringer this weekend with Becky. It was better than I thought it would be (though still filled with cheeseball Hollywood moments). The movie didn't treat the Special Olympics athletes with any disrespect, which made it more fun to watch. Of course, seeing Johnny Knoxville only made me think of Jackass. I kept waiting for him to get kicked in the balls. Still a decent movie though, worth a rental.
So I broke down and finally bought a Brita tapwater filter for my kitchen faucet. I'd been thinking about doing it for a while now; Becky and I bought so much bottled water that we'd have piles and piles of unused plastic bottles. I figured that we're not exactly helping the enviornment by having all those bottles; yes, we do recycle them but by buying them in the first place we're still part of the problem.
The filter does a great job. It makes water taste like... well, nothing. Which is exactly how water is supposed to taste. I noted that when I removed the old aerator on the faucet, there were plenty of gross little bits of stuff, just sitting there. Ick.
I like that the Brita filter can be turned off so you can use regular water for cooking or cleaning. It was worth the investment.
