normally every month and half to 2 months we get news that someone who was in our detox, has died of their addictions. (this not counting suicides, which many also). anyways this man was with us about 5 days ago and left ama (against medical advice). he was an alcoholic who mixed opiates (painkiller opiates not herion) to get drunk quicker. anyways

actually i have started doing the pyschosocial forms... i have always done them but now i am doing the whole things with the patients which is what the counclers on the floor do. so im having a lot of fun doing them. and barbara who is our drug councler on the floor now wants me to go to school for it too. so i think i am probably gonna go for it cause i like it a lot. its kinda a depressing job but i love doing it. i cant explain why i like talking to the patients and what not it just intrests me. i like talking to them and helping some patients who dont know what their triggers to relaspe are discover what they are. and helping them understand their addictions better. i dont like seeing people fail or anything or needing help. but i like helping them. and i understand that most people will never sober and a lot will die. but its worth it for the ones that do make it... so i will keep yah posted if i go to school for it. dr. peter talked to me the other day to go for it again. cause he thinks im excellent. i know i am good at it cause i can flat out dx patients and tell dr peter this is my impression and he comes out and says im esactly right. and the counclers on the floor ask me for my input all the time now. so we shall see... i really love the idea of helping people though...
