The Wassaildorf’s

It all started off the coast of Ireland. There, lived twelve girls, their names unknown. They were best friends, went to school together, sat at lunch together, and slept over each others houses. They never began to have an interest in boys until around ninth grade. Then they realized that they weren’t very beautiful girls. They were just the typical homely but plain type. They had recently started reading up on witchcraft, and they became very interested. They began meeting at each others houses, performing innocent spells out of store bought books.

One day one of the girls found a magic shop in a town outside their home. She became curious and decided to have a look inside. The moment she walked in she became amazed, never in her life had she seen such wonderful things. Piles upon piles of spell books she had never seen in the local stores. She looked through all of them for hours and hours and somehow stumbled upon a large black book in the back of the store. She had made her choice. She brought her item up the cashier and said that she would like to purchase the book. The man at the counter told her that the book was very old and also very expensive. But with out a second thought she whipped out her wallet and gave the man every dime she had, she was determined to own the book. The man at the store took all her money and with out a second thought she went home with the book.

She called all her friends on the phone and they all gathered in the nearby cemetery. They opened up the book and chose a spell. The spell they chose was designed to make the casters of the spell beautiful, for them to be envied by all other women and to be loved by all men. They sat in a circle and lit some candles and began the chant. They held their hands together and read from the book word for word, each of them praying to themselves that the spell would work, that they would become beautiful. After they had finished the spell they all packed up their things and went home as though nothing had happened.

The girls awoke the next day to a sight in the mirror that they had only dreamed about. Their wishes had come true, they were beautiful. The girls got together and decided to parade around town with their new looks. They were stared at by everyone, some with envy, and some with lust. A smile so lovely had never lit the girls faces before; they were finally satisfied with their looks. This was the first night ever that they would go to sleep happy.
But the next morning they woke up to a frightful sight. The girls, all twelve of them, were covered with lumps, growing larger at an alarming rate. They were all horrified. They met up and tried to figure out what was causing the problem. But by the end of the day, it had just gotten worse. The girl’s bodies had become horrible misshapen. They became disfigured, extra appendages covered their bodies. They didn’t know what to do, they knew that they could never let any of their family members see them. So the decided to run away to America, the rumored land of opportunity.

They paid a man with a boat all the money that they had to sail them to the US. They had to travel for days because the mans boat was so small and unpowerful. But finally in the middle of a cold night they arrived in America, in the state of New York.

When the got off the boat they walked around the huge city, trying to find some sort of shelter. After hours of searching they finally happened upon an abandoned warehouse and climbed in through one of the side windows. Inside the found a large amount of people, mostly runaways from other parts of the city who had also came there to escape from their problems. They were somehow accepted by the people, probably because they all shared problems.

One night while they were searching the nearby dumpsters for food they were happened upon by a shady man in a business suit. He talked to the girls and they shared their story with him. He felt sympathetic towards the girls so he offered to let them stay in his home. The man treated the girls as his daughters, feeding them and providing them with their every needs. The girls were happy with their new life and hoped that it would never end.

One morning the girls awoke and discovered that one of them wasn’t there. They went to their new caretaker and asked him if he had any idea where she had gone. He acted very concerned about the problem and told them that he would go out and search immediately. The girls trusted him and didn’t let the problem worry them anymore. But when night came they again became concerned. They asked the man if he had any leads to where she might be. He sadly said no and suggested that they all go to sleep and that he would look again in the morning.

The girls woke up the next morning to yet another one of them missing. They became extremely worried and started to blame the man for what had happened. When they confronted him he became very nervous and told them that he wanted them to stay in the basement from now on. They listened to him because they were scared that they might disappear too.

The man had started selling the girls on the street to plastic surgeons. Their extra limbs were then used to repair super models who had suffered disfiguring accidents. He thought of the girls as his products, selling them as if they weren’t even human.

After a while, a local scientist became interested in the man’s business. He and the scientist then came up with the idea to clone the girls, producing even more of them. They soon started a business together and became very wealthy. They grew their clones in oversized fish tanks and fed them hormones through long tubes into their necks so they would develop more quickly. They became very popular with the local plastic surgeons and then word went out of what they were doing and soon the famous Hollywood surgeons wanted in on the new fad too. They girls sold almost as fast as they were produced. Of course there were some people who thought that the man’s business was completely barbaric and that you shouldn’t sell anyone for any reason. But of course, as with most things, their opinions didn’t matter and they went on with there practice despite the inhumanity of it.

They began calling the cloned creatures Wassaildorfs after the town that they were rumored to have came from. Within the next few years they found ways to produce the clones without them having any personalities so that they didn’t care or even realize what they were born for.

Five years later for some unknown reason their business was suddenly shut down. There are rumors that some of the clones still exist and they are seen wandering the streets, manmade monsters without minds of their own. In future years, movies and even books were written about the strange fad and its unknown ending, and it’s still a story that haunts the streets of New York to this day.

The End.

well yah. thats all folks. let me know what you think of my story.
