So Thursday night i was sitting there, thinking to myself, "Gee, i sure do miss the inside of the emergency room, we've only been there 5 times this year..."

And then Jeremy shattered his coffee pot while trying to get the lid back on and sliced both of his hands to ribbons. How accommodating!

We ran to the urgent care first, where they wrapped him up in actual bandages (as opposed to my paper-towel-and-towel contraption) and told us to get to the ER. He got stitches in his right thumb and wrist, several steri-strips, and some surgical glue. The more minor cuts they left to heal up on their own. Every one of his fingers is cut at least a little bit.

The poor guy has complete insensitivity to both novocaine and lidocaine, so they gave him an IV with some Ativan and Versed but didn't wait long enough for it to kick in so he was well aware during all the stitching.

Tristan was a champ during the whole thing. We ended up on the pediatric side of the ER because the adult side was full, so they had a cart full of books for us to read and a tub of Duplos to play with.

We undid his bandages today and cleaned up his hands a little bit. We're keeping giant band aids and antibiotic ointment on the bigger wounds for a while.
