Coming home from a late night out...

Sep 23, 2008 17:58

Our night out had been lots of fun, and had lasted until close to dawn, but we'd managed to make it back to the estate before going up in flames. Once we made it back to the house, I started up the stairs towards our bedroom. It'd been a very fun filled night, but now I was tired and wanted to do nothing, but sleep. I was almost up to the top ( Read more... )

We had a marvelous time tonight, but it was kind of strange to come back to someone actually being there, well, someone who actually mattered a little. I looked up at Angelus as he blocked our way up the stairs. What an oddly...fatherly look that he had on his face.

Angelus stood in their way to prevent them from going up the stairs. They looked like two children to him who might have had almost too good of a time. He couldn't really fault them for that, but he always was a bit...indulgent with his children. "You two have fun tonight?" he asked, smiling at them.

I smiled at him, as I felt Wes close behind me. "We had a great time tonight." We really had too it had been the most fun I'd had in a long time. I was tired now though and very much just wanted to sleep, but Angelus was still blocking the path.

Angelus's grin got a little wider. "You two look it." Even for vampires, they looked very tired. Tired, but happy, though. "Didn't want to invite your new guest along?"

Apparently, Angelus felt a litte left out. Poor him. "We wanted to give you your space to settle in, maybe introduce your toy to her new surrounds, too."

I nodded in agreement with what Wes was saying. I was tired and really just wanted to sleep,I still wasn't sure why Angelus wasn't letting us up to our room.

Angelus nodded at what Wes said. Logically, it made sense, and the boy, if he was anything, was logical to a fault. "We should all get together and do something in the next few nights. Raise a little hell of our own."

I just nodded. I was tired, and I could feel that sunup was coming within twenty or so minutes. Angel might be able to sit up all day and night, but I'd rather not.

"Great it's settled then, we'll all go out later this week maybe, but right now we're going to bed." I informed him, before pushing past him and up into the upstairs hallway.

Angelus moved out of the way just in time to allow Lilah to pass. He was satisfied enough at the moment to let them through. "Have a good rest," he said, waving the two of them off for the moment.

I looked at Angelus one more time before continuing up the stairs myself and to the bedroom. "Of course he would be strange tonight," I muttered as I shut the door to the bedroom after Lilah was in as well.

I ignored Angelus and just headed up to bed. Once we were both in our bedroom I started to get changed. "Yeah he's been acting a little off ever since he brought Buffy back with him." I finished changing clothes and slipped into bed.

"Maybe we'll luck up and he'll forget to feed her for a month," I joked. Of course, Angelus was far too careful to do such a thing. "Still, as long as he leaves her here, a family outing is probably not a terrible idea." If he took her with us, I might have to push her into the Thames River myself.

"I'm fine with him coming out with us some time if he leaves her here. I'm not sure I can deal with his sudden apperance of a fatherly attitude though,it's a little weird."

"It's probably more of that 'vampire family' thing that he has for us." I wasn't exactly happy with it, but I preferred the fatherly attitude over him pawing Lilah any day of the week. "It is a little odd, though."

I sighed. "Yeah well whatever it is it's just odd that he now suddenly seems to care what we're up to." Plus it wasn't like I asked to becone part of his crazy vampire family anyway. Although there are a few perks to being undead I guess.

"Well, maybe he'll get bored with it soon and go back to playing with Buffy. The man has an attention span of a gnat." Who knew how he would be acting in a month or week or even tomorrow.

"Maybe, but what if he decides to try and change the way things run around here?" I asked wanting to know what if anything Wes planned to do about it.

"Unfortunately, if that happens, we might have to deal with him," I said quietly. "I personally would rather that not happen." I liked the way that things were going right now. If Angelus would just play with the team, then we can all get along just fine.

I nodded in agreement, knowing how Wes feels about Angelus'idea of family. If he has his way Wes will have to share me, which I know he doesn't want to do.
