SUMMARY: Why are you here? What is your purpose?
NOTES: Don't own Prowl or Cade, but I own Justice and Libra. Rawr.

Car 346.

That’s the car that Officer Justice Millian had been assigned: a beautiful Ford Mustang with a sky blue stripe down both sides and dazzling, red, flashing lights.

The thing he found very peculiar was the emblem on the side. He couldn’t quite tell what it was supposed to be other than the fact it resembled a shield with some weird insignia on it. Justice had been told that they tried to paint over it, but every single time the emblem just came back. It was just his luck that he got stuck with a possessed car.

Sighing to himself (and muttering about his bad luck), the man proceeded to pop open the back door, allowing his black German shepherd to jump inside. And Justice often found himself hearing strange things, like creaking…or groans, accompanying said action.

Sometimes, Libra refused to enter the Mustang, and chose to, instead, sit outside barking at the car. The brunette would always need to pet the hood, or get inside himself before the dog deemed it safe enough to enter after his owner.

This car was just strange.

But, what was probably most strange was the odd encounter he had; the one, singular event, that totally changed his life.

It was warm as ever when Justice went out on his daily scouting. Nothing really ever happened during the day, it was mostly at night where the most rambunctious behavior occurred. Even then, it wasn’t anything terrible, though he had been privy to a few murders and other such vicious crimes.

This, however, was on a whole new level of weird.

He heard the sirens blaring behind him and saw the blue and red lights flashing off the windows of nearby buildings. However, when the officer had tried to pull over for the other police vehicle, his brakes had ceased to work. Justice wasn’t typically one to panic, so, calm as ever, he reached for the emergency kill-switch…and promptly found there wasn’t one.

That was when he began to panic.

The thick strip of his seatbelt suddenly shot around his chest and waist, tightening and keeping him fastened to the seat. Libra was barking in the back, staring out the rear window and directing his anger towards the black and white following them. Bright eyes were wide and whatever Justice wanted to say caught in his throat as the locks clicked themselves.

Was he scared? Oh god, yes.

The man had absolutely no idea what was going on. All he knew was that his own police vehicle was running without his help, maneuvering through the (thankfully deserted) streets with such precision it was almost like the thing had a life of its own.

With quaking hands, Justice tried to undo the seatbelt and turn the wheel, but both things locked into place. The German shepherd had stopped barking and was, instead, cowering in the back seat. Justice silently hoped the dog didn’t decide to release his bladder on the expensive leather; that always sucked to clean.

“Wh-what is going on…” he muttered, voice hitching slightly.

He was absolutely not expecting an answer of any kind, and had to shake his head when he heard a voice proclaim, “Fear not, Officer Millian, I will dispatch the enemy vehicle.”

At this point, Justice felt much like his dog and was nearly ready to wet himself.

The seatbelt unfastened and doors promptly unlocked. One sharp turn and the car snapped open its doors, throwing both Justice and Libra onto the dirt. How they had come to this abandoned portion of an old warehouse…he wasn’t sure, but the brunette knew he would be wonderfully bruised in the morning.

Swallowing thickly, the man took a hold of his dog’s collar, sitting up and pulling the Shepherd towards his body. His car was kicking up dust, causing Justice to look away.

Wait…his car was…driving without him?

The black and white Saleen suddenly screeched in behind the white and blue Mustang, tires grinding against the gravel and picking up more dust. Long strands of hair whipped in the man’s bright eyes, so he almost missed the transformation sequence.

Gears were grinding and circuits crackling. The officer’s car was lifting up plating, fastening metal together and rearranging the wheels. Things clicked into place smoothly and gentle metallic sounds bounced against the derelict buildings and echoed loudly. The front window flipped up to form a chest, which was quickly covered and reinforced by the hood. Thick front doors created large shoulders, while the back ones locked to make sturdy hips. The top portion that contained the flashing lights wrapped around a waist, concealing the engine that still purred. That strand of red lights, however, went somewhere else, contorting and forming a ‘V’ shaped portion on top of, what appeared to be, a head covered in a helmet of some kind. A glass visor suddenly snapped open and glowing blue optics shot towards Justice and his dog.

And oh man, did Justice want to take Libra and run, but he was frozen like a deer in the headlights. What was that thing?! Did his car just turn into a giant freaking robot?!

He wanted to smack himself to make sure that this wasn’t just some very strange dream. His hands, however, were currently occupied with holding Libra so the dog didn’t scatter, holding his tail between his legs.

There was some garbled words behind him, harsh and grating, causing the officer to turn around. There was another one standing some feet away from them, but this one was black and white and decidedly sharp looking.

“Justice Millian,” the white and blue one spoke up.

The man couldn’t say a word, but looked up at him with bright green eyes. The robot wasn’t looking at him, but at the other creature.

“Take Libra and proceed into that building and wait for me.”

The brunette wasn’t entirely sure what made him do so, but he abruptly scrambled to his feet, not bothering to dust any dirt from his pants or shirt. Libra was reluctant to move for a moment, but once his master pulled on his collar, the dog went.

Justice idly heard the clashing of metal and other scraping sounds along with one powerful explosion. He was thankful to get inside the large warehouse and he let Libra go. The dog immediately ran and hid under something large. To be honest, the officer wanted to do the same himself, but forced his nerves to remain in tact, though his shaking belied the fact he was, at this moment, very scared.

He wondered if the racket outside would draw in his comrades, but for some reason, he found that unlikely. This portion of town was under his jurisdiction, and his alone. That meant he couldn’t get any help lest one of these robots decide to mangle him and his dog.

Suddenly the noise stopped and sirens were once more going off. They grew fainter and disappeared all together in the next instant. And Justice had wanted to deem it safe…but found that he could hear steadily approaching footsteps.

Very heavy, foreboding footsteps.

Then the figure was in view, gently slipping into the large loading dock doors the officer and his dog had run through. For a moment, Justice was awed by the fact something so large and bulky could move with the grace of a cat; though the other robot was bulkier, this one was a bit slimmer in stature.

He took a tentative step backwards, thinking about drawing his gin, but promptly deciding against it. This thing would probably not be harmed by pitiful little bullets, unless aimed at the right spot. Already Justice’s mind was running wild with scenarios of his own, bloody death.

The man shuffled back even further as the giant form advanced, until his back hit the opposite wall. This was when his eyes went wide and then shut just as fast. He quickly ducked his head as the mechanoid kneeled and reached out with one, metallic hand. He swallowed hard and waited for whatever fate would befall him.

However, he didn’t expect the sudden gentle touch that lifted his head upwards, nor did he expect the rich, even voice that quietly said, “The enemy has retreated, Officer Millian.”

Timidly slipping open his vibrant eyes, Justice peered up at the robot currently speaking his name so softly. That surprised him a bit, but then he recognized this robot as his car, and that…sort of made sense. But he couldn’t be sure about this creature just yet.

He felt the cold of the other’s metal finger warm up against his skin as the robot kept it poised under his chin. Pressing his own hands to the smooth surface, Justice noticed how small he really was compared to this mechanical device as his slender hands only cradled the tip of a finger that was as long as his arm.

“Wh-what…a-are you?”

“I am an Autonomous Robotic Organism from the planet of Cybertron. My name, however, is Prowl.”

The man blinked a moment, “So…you…came from…a different planet?”

Prowl chuckled and released the human’s face, “Hard to believe, I am aware, but I am sure you can find some way to get past the impossible and see that I can be explained quite simply.”

Holding up his hands slightly, Justice shook his head, “I…I’ve watched enough Sci-Fi to be smart enough not to ask you to explain yourself.”

Bracing his one arm on a thickly plated knee, Prowl stared at his little human charge. It had been explained that, in order to keep Mercedes Witwicky safe, everyone that knew his family personally must be kept safe. That meant, an Autobot had to actively watch over every human that was close to said family. Justice Millian was an officer under the Witwicky boy’s father. The Decepticons could use this man just like they were using the boy’s former best friend.

“Why…why are you here…what is your purpose?” Justice asked, stepping away from the wall and closer to the Autobot.

“That is the easiest question of all,” Prowl said, reaching out his hand and pushing away a lightly colored strand of hair to reveal a slight cut on his human’s forehead. It was nothing serious so the scout need not worry about getting the man straight to a medic. He could explain some things first.

“I am here to Protect and Serve.”
