I have this memory from when I was six or seven years old.
My mother had told me that all commercials were advertising something (a product, a TV show, something) and I didn't believe her.
To this day I remember the commercial that I thought disproved her theory.It featured a mom and her baby on the beach -- and at that age I would have bet a million dollars it wasn't selling anything. I watched TV for days hoping to find that commercial again, call her into the room, and prove I was right.
To be honest, all these years I've been looking for such a commercial, because I was so certain of its existence when I was younger.
After a long wait I believe I've found it in the "be like Kanye West spray" commercial which has no purpose and is not selling anything. Maybe it gives Kanye West a bit of exposure - i'll give it that much. But, really, it's just lame and silly, and, if it weren't 2 am, I would call my mother in to watch it so we could settle the nearly 12 year disagreement.
