damn, 2005 has been kickass for movies. I finally saw Kingdom of Heaven not too long ago. There was Star Wars 3, Batman Begins, Sin City, Constantine, and now War of the Worlds.
WotW might be the best movie i saw all year, but Kingdom of Heaven was kick ass too...i don't know which one to rank 1st. The aliens and the machines were well done....vaporizing everything in sight. the aliens were kinda the background story, and tom cruise is in the thick of it with his kids...trying to be the father figure and all. i was kind of thinking about Independence Day while watching it. also twister came to my mind because of the storm in the beginning and the machines were kind of like twisters in a way. but it wasn't til later that i realized that in Independence Day, people were helping each other out, being good citizens. it was totally different in WotW. people were killing each other just so they could save their own neck. self-preservation(i heard this from another movie i can't remember) at its finest, every man for themselves. I wonder which version would be correct in the real world. i did like the kid in the movie who represented the good samaritan despite the many selfish bastards and wackos running around the movie. this movie could've been just a shoot em up movie, aliens vs US Army or what have you(which still would've been kickass), but spielberg did a great job with the story. the family had to go through many obstacles to stay alive. the way tom took care of his lil girl towards the end was awesome...he had to protect her innocence. War of the Worlds - 10/10
I saw Land of the Dead with nessa, her sis and friend on sunday night. that movie was hilarious. interesting story...Romero gave the zombie's maybe 1/4 of a brain this time. i would've loved to be the main zombie in that movie...all he said was "uh uhhhh UHHHHH!!" and walk reeeeeally slow! how much did that crackhead get for that role! how kickass would it have been to have been an extra. lots of blood and killing, i just wanted to relax and be entertained and it was good enough. the only thing that bothered me were the people who deserved to die, like the kid listening to music on his headphones. seriously, killer zombies running loose and your in a dark, creepy room BY YOURSELF and you want to listen to music. you deserved to die stupid kid. Land of Dead - 7/10
after LofD we all went to Old Town and nessa and i shared a pint of strawberry cheesecake ice cream by the water, best damn ice cream ever. we almost made diana vomit since she just saw intestines getting pulled out in LofD. Nessa and I did some funny poses for the camera by the water and with Tony the Tiger ! which i'll be posting soon :) good times. that night - 10/10
There's not really any other big movies that i want to see next. But i wouldn't mind seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Devil's Rejects, Fantastic 4, The Wedding Crashers, Red Eye...so many movies, so little money. I'm gonna have to wait for most of them to go to dvd. ok, my entry on movies is done. i need to make a list of movies i saw this year, but thats for another night...
