Last Day
The last day or two has been somewhat uneventful... I love this type of vacation because we just do whatever we want, and it's not really whirlwind. We did a LOT of shopping yesterday... We hit a pure Japanese dollar-store thinger. I got a Kitsune mask for Sakuracon C: Among cute dollsand shibori/chibori bag for Kiyo. We also went to a farmers market after seeing 'I Think I Love My Wife' and I got somen (yum) some cute kokeshi candies, some random anime sticker thing and a Naruto figure. I didnt get something like that for everybody, so I'll open it up and whoever wants it gets it. :P
Today my mom let us sleep in and we went to Libby's manapua to buy.. manapua. Its like the Japanese pork bun.. It's steamed buns (which makes it slightly chewy) with fillings... My mom got chicken and pork, and we also had half-moons (Transparent potsticker-ish things filled with shrimp. Kinda the thing you'd have at Chinese New Year) as well as Coconut Custard Mochi. The only good mochi I've had. :/ It has a REALLY odd texture.
I lose track of time easily...I dont even remember what we did for a lot of the time. I know we tried to go to Hanama Bay a couple times, but it was full. We finally got to go there half an hour before closing. :/ We couldnt go out because of the waves, and then they kept sounding creepy alarms before they could get their megaphone to work. It freaked me out a little, even if I wasnt even in the water.
We also went to the Hilton Hawaii village and snuck in their pool, as well as in the ocean. We only spent an hour or two there, not even.. and parking was 21 $ D:
We ate in tonight, having the imitation crab-fish stuff, my somen, luau pork and lomi lomi salmon. We also went shopping on the way back from Hanama and got pineapples, Guava cakes and two eclair/cream puffs from Beard Papas. It was neat... Hawaii is so unique.. I definately want to come back here.. Maybe live for a year or work here.. Japanese is much more important than here than it is in Seattle, really.. And I love even the archetecture.. Everything is open air.. Not even Florida has all of that... All they have is more roaches and stagnant air. Its beautiful here.. <3 Even the geckos are cute.
