Of vampires and Dollfies (update 1.25.09)
Update 2.26.09--$10 saved for Blayne. xD A drop of water in the bucket, I guess.
Okay, so, due to much browsing and watching of doll photographers on dA and envying their characters in solid form, I have set my mind to getting the vampire clan in ABJD form! ABJD stands for Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls, and they are also referred to as Dollfies. They are beautiful pieces of art, I would love to someday have each and every main character (numbering around 15) in dollfie form,but alas, they each cost several hundred dollars. Yes, I'm serious.
So, for my reference as well as the amusement of anyone else who will even remotely understand what I'm saying (and the annoyance and confusion of those who will not) I am deciding to keep track of my dollfie ideas for the vampires here.
First and foremost, the doll I want is Blayne. He was my vampire at the beginning and he will be the main vampire up until the end. He si the one I've always wanted most in some type of visible, tangible form.

Doll: Delf Moon from Luts, normal skin, type 2 with faceup; $460
Wig: DW-61 Delf from Luts, $21
Eyes: Luts 16mm oval PW gray, Glass, $15
TOTAL: $496
Saved: $10
Difference: $486
I don't have anything in the way of clothes picked out for him yet... he'd need at least two sets--one for scenes with Aaron and one for modern scenes. Possibly more if I ever got the whole cast of characters and wanted to do scenes from, say, Jerusalem.

Wig: still looking
Eyes: Luts 16mm LG Spring green, glass, $20
I'm having huge problems trying to find a wig for her--she's supposed to have long-ish, bright, natural red hair with some curl. Oh well, I'll keep looking. Like I said, it's unlikely I'll get these guys any time soon, if at all. And if I do get another after Blayne, Aaron would come first. Again, though, it's nice to dream. ♥
I haven't really looked at dolls for the other characters yet, except Aaron (a Volks Link boy, but that's expensive, I'll see if there's another possibility) and Leala (Erikagana), who will probably be from Fairyland, maybe a MiniFee Shushu.
Keep in mind that I don't plan on having anyone in dollfie form for several years, preferably after BoBL is (hopefully!) published. This may well be a pipe dream, but I don't really care. If I start saving a bit now, I will have enough eventually, whether the story is published or not. (I refuse to call it a book or novel; it is nothing but a story until published).
So, I'll be updating this if and when I get what I want for other characters. It would be so amazing to have the entire list in ABJD form someday.... Hey, I can dream, right?
