i spent the money that i saved up
went to san francisco this weekend. my friend had it all budgeted out pretty cheap but i still ended up spending a lot of money on food and booze. it was worth every penny though. i had such good time.
Saturday:
got up 7am, finished packing because i hadn't decided to go until a couple days before
worked 9-1
hit the road
got to where our friends were house-sitting in danville (suburb of oakland) about 7:30/8
caught up with good friends and waited for the other two that didn't know we were coming
it was so rad to see their faces - they knew something was weird but couldn't put it together right away!
everyone got wasted - ahhhh, just like old times
passed out
Sunday:
all 10 of us that were staying at the house woke up and stumbled out to the patio at the same time all disheveled. hilarious, but again, just like old times.
-it's funny that the most sentimental i got was when i saw my friends all hungover
and arguing about whether or not we could shower before breakfast...
7 of us strolled into town and ate breakfast
went back and finished showering
crammed 6 people into the rental car and headed into san francisco
hit traffic and it took FOREVER to get to the hotel once we got off the highway
checked into the hotel and dropped off the car ($33 a day to park in the hotel lot - WTF!)
went to Blondie's Pizza for lunch - best pizza EVER!!! no joke, no comparison
went up some glass elevator with a great view of most of the city
took trolly to fisherman's wharf, had clam chowder and walked around on pier 39
took a cable car to market street but it was blocked off because it was gay pride weekend
so we took the underground (subway) back to near the hotel for a nap
got ready and went to the club that our friends had rented out
it was a really cool venue and i was really into most of the music they spun
it was rad to see them in a club finally doing what they did in our apartments back in the day but improved
so cool. so so cool.
3am back to hotel to pass out
Monday:
got up 10-ish
went to find particular breakfast spot but got lost
called friends and they told us to come to their place and meet up
walked down from their apartment to this little greasy spoon-ish place
best damn omelette ever
stopped at a cool fish store for way to long
but i saw an eel eat a bunch of little fish and that was cool
dropped off friends to get a rental truck b/c they had to move
got on PCH to see some scenery a little way down the coast
took a couple HOURS to get to Santa Cruz
i got us lost trying to get from the coast to the 5...
but we hit the 101 so i pretended i planned that
got home and passed out around 12:30am
Tuesday:
sad about being at work
sad about my bank account
it was so good to see the homies though. it's been about a year since we've seen any of them and i was nervous that we'd have grown apart but it was like not a single day had passed. i love my friends.
