ETA: you added your icon from the last OWL challenge - I loved that one of Katherine/Elena and I don't watch TVD. I don't anything about it but that image of that woman's face is so powerful I want to watch it. Very well done!

Sorry, I'm not very good at explaining things but I'll try: I use PS and with the free transform option in the edit menu I got the tilt effect, and lowered the opacity a bit (same for the Willow icon, lowered both opacity and fill options).
To get the light/shadow effect I've added layers with white/dark blobs and played with blend modes. Hope this helps. :)

I don't have photoshop and have never worked with it besides watch my sweetie edit photos of her paints (so basic stuff) and that still makes sense to me anyway. I feel like I could go into PS with that explanation so - you're too modest about your ability to 'splain things!

That artwork you've got on the right side of this page is a head-turner btw like WHOA, to be perfectly inarticulate. And guys don't turn my head. JM doesn't turn my head (his acting sure) but that is one fantastically powerful image.

*blushes some more* That's Katherine, but it would work for Elena too as she spent some time with her humanity turned off. I keep up with TVD but right now my new favourite show is Sleepy Hollow, do you like it too?

The artwork on the right is by the awesome rua1412, she's a true artist with a very distinctive style in everything she does (icons, banners, wallpapers, blends, manips). And you may have guessed I'm a big JM fan, Spike will forever be my favourite role of his (same as my undying love for Btvs).

I haven't seen sleepy hollow but I'd like to! I've heard interesting things about Abby.

I have netflix no cable access - and for the most part I don't mind that, except netflix rarely has the tv shows everyone rec's to me so I have to wait or find other ways to watch them. No to Veronica Mars, yes to Ringer. Go figure.

It does have tvd however so I could watch that. (for once, hah)

And I've been admiring rua1412's work in icontests, but I haven't seen anything by her so large, relatively speaking, nor so striking!

She's awesome! No-nonsense, smart, tough and very generous, she introduces Ichabod to the wonders of the 21st century and it's hilarious! Her sister Jenny is great too.

Shhh... most of my viewing fun is online if I want to keep up with new stuff. ;-)
