after a year of planning this surgery, i FINALLY did it! for those of you who dont know, i have a really have (or should i say "had") a really bad case of TMJ. it gave me lots of headaches and crap like that. so last summer i was supposed to have this surgery, which i ended up not having b/c i went to baltimore early for school. so the plan was that i was going to get it done at the end of may... then the beginning of june... then the end of june... then the middle of july... and on tuesday, july 26, it was finally done! sixth times a charm i guess...
some perks:
my parents dont expect me to do a thing
i get waited on hand and foot
and of course the major advantage: no more headaches, jaw popping, or gaps in the front of my teeth.
the downside:
every relative i know has called to hear me "say a few words" (b/c of this thing in my mouth and all my stitches, me talking just sounds like a series of grunts and mumbles)
when i "talk" too much i start to drool
i have a stuffy nose: it's filled with blood at some other crap left from the surgery
half of my face is swollen and numb, the other half is just swollen
i can't eat for six weeks
my recovery period runs into the beginning of the fall semester
oh can anyone tell me more about this? i went to oviedo marketplace last weekend and i see all the people working there leaving. apparently there was a bomb threat (???) and the mall was closed the rest of the day. what ever happened with that??
