College plans
...I know registration for UNO started back on the seventh but this is still ealier than normal for me to schedule.
Three weeks ago I talked to an advisor in the General Studies department. He laid it out for me, exactly what I have to do. This is the first time since attending UNO that I clearly understood what classes I need to do, and how far along I am till graduating. 46 Hours...not counting the classes i'm taking this semester.
So I am switching to general studies with a focus in "Writing." The general studies program at UNO is very good. Its funny, I relate to it as picking a presitage class for a D&D Character. You pick your focus of study, and then have three fields of studies within in that study.
For example, my Cross-Departmental IPL is Writing. I might even make it more broad by saying for Comercial or Business use.
Area A: is English, taking Eng 4152, (Technical Writing) 4155 (Professional Editing) 4521 (Early Shakespear).
Area B: Film, Theater.. which involves Jour 3700 (Advance Journalism) 3760 (Educational Journalism) FTCA 3770 (Message Design for the MAss Media) and FTCA 4670 (Mass Media and the Law).
I'm having trouble picking a third area, but there is a History class I'd like to take called Historical Thought and Writing, which introduces students to writing history, and gives practice in analysis, research, documentation, and composition.
At most...this should take me 3 semesters, not counting any classes I might take during the summer.....and time I might be spending in jail..
