And it is, it is a glorious thing to be a pirate king.
Wow, I just got a very cool program. It's by Xilisoft and it's called DVD Ripper Platinum. I got it through a third party dealer at Amazon.com, and it's a really awesome program. It doesn't seem totally on the up and up, judging from the less than professional looking graphics and the fact the whoever wrote the tutorials and FAQ only speaks English as a second language, if that. But the program does what it is supposed to, so I can just try to work with the instructions that sound like they were written in some other language and translated into English with a very crappy internet translation site.
It can take DVD movies and rip them into all sorts of audio and video file formats that can be saved onto your mp3 player (or iPod, if you're so inclined.) I started by ripping some Pumpkins videos (and bits of Vieuphoria, like the orgasmic performance of Silverfuck,) into mpegs to put on my Wolverine. The files aren't as big as I thought they'd be, so I'm pondering the possibility of putting whole CSI eppys on there, or maybe even Rent. I only got the 60GB Wolverine, but some day the 120GB Wolerine will be mine, and it will be much loaded with the eye candy.
For our Criminology midterm we watched a documentary called Street Wise (which was made in the 80s if the Annie Lennox music and obscenely fluffy hair is any indication.) Our actual midterm is to analyze the documentary through the lens of one of the criminological theories of the origins of crime. We get to pick which theory we use, so this midterm should be easy, (not to mention fun.) I love analyzing stuff, especially "deviant" behaviour.
