[Locked to Kunzite]

Jan 27, 2007 17:45

Mina sits at a table at the cafe she told Kunzite about. She holds her transformation wand, fiddling with it idly as she thinks. "I hope this wasn't a bad idea," she says to herself, knowing that if thing got out of hand she'd be fighting by herself. Feeling a bit worried, she reaches for her milkshake and takes a sip to calm her nerves.

Kunzite made his way to the cafe that Minako had described to him. He paused at the door, wondering if this was the best thing to do, but there was no time to hesitate now. With a gulp his pushed the door open and walked inside. Almost immediatly he saw Minako sitting at a table and walked over to her.

"Minako?"

Minako jumps at the sound of her name, her thoughts suddenly interrupted. She slowly glances up at Kuzite, noting how different he looked from what she remembered. A small smile plays upon her mouth. "Yeah, that's me," she says, hiding her transformation wand. "Uh, go ahead and sit down if you want."

"It's so weird for him to refer to me as Minako, and not Sailor Venus," the blonde thinks to herself.

"Thank you," Kunzite said with a nod as he sat down across the table from Minako. He ordered a coffee, then dared to peer across the table at her.

"Thank you for meeting me. I wasn't sure if you'd really come or not."

"Don't be silly," Minako says, "I'm the one who suggested it."

She slides her hand now-empty milkshake glass across the table, purposely staring at it to avoid looking at Kunzite directly. Finally, she musters up the courage to glance up and face him directly. "Sorry," she says, "This is just kind of awkward for me. I guess not so much for you since you don't remember."

"I wouldn't say that," Kunzite said with a slight shake of his head. "In fact it's still very awkward for me. All of a sudden thanks to my dreams and meeting you...I don't know who I am any more. And if I am who you say I am, then you know far more about me that I do."

He stopped for a moment when a waiter came with his coffee. He took it and set it gently down on the table.

"Wouldn't you say that's a bit awkward?"

Minako blushed heavily and lowered her head so that her bangs covered her eyes. "Yeah, I suppose so," she said. She glanced up again, her cheeks still slightly red. "How long have you had these dreams?"

"For several months now," Kunzite replied as he blew on his coffee to cool it. He tried not to take notice of Minako's blush. He didn't want to make her feel anymore uncomfortable than she had to. "Almost a year."

"That's a long time," Minako replied. "Must be unnerving." She sighed, trying to think of a subtle way to tell Kunzite about his past. "Do you ever have dreams about an old Kingdom? Perhaps one related to the moon...?"

"Well...there are these old ruins. That's where all of the dreams take place. There's fog everywhere, so I can never tell where exactly I am," he explained as he sipped from his coffee. "Why the moon?"

The ruins of the Moon Kingdom," Minako says. "And, you said there was a woman in them, right?" She paused, hoping the woman in his dreams wasn't Queen Beryl, "What's she like?"

"The Moon Kingdom..." Kunzite said slowly, letting the name roll around in his head for a bit. It was another name that just twinged at him, another name he should remember.

"Ah...the woman," he said and starred deep into his coffee. The woman was of course the most awkward part of his dream. "I don't know much about her. She's always off in the distance, calling my name over and over. I never seem to reach her."

Minako frowned. "The Moon Kingdom existed a long time ago, during the Silver Millenium," she began, "It was ruled by Queen Serenty, who had a daughter." She paused for a bit, wishing she hadn't drank her entire milkshake. "It was my job, and the jobs of several others, to protect the Princess."

She lowered her head again. "I don't know how to word this next part so it isn't so... harsh," she said, "But you served under an evil queen who destroyed the entire Moon Kingdom." She glanced up at Kunzite, knowing she had been a bit insensitive. She waited for him to soak in the first part before she continued.

Needless to say this was a bit much for Kunzite to take in. He didn't say anything for a long time. All this about the Moon Kingdom, a princess and an evil queen; it all sounded so...unbelievable. After all he was a lawyer and lawyers needed proof. However as he listened to Minako spoke all he could do was believe every word that came out of her mouth. Just like that.

"So I was...evil?"

((ooc: Now I don't have my manga on hand and it's been a while, so I was wondering if you could answer this for me: The four generals didn't help destroy the Moon Kingdom in the manga correct? Beryl took them in when they reborn on Earth right?))

((Wikipedia mentions they were brainwashed/led astray/sold their souls to the Dark Kingdom =P. I, of course, have not read the magna *flails* but that's the story I was going with, since you said you were playing Manga!Kunzite. Minako doesn't know any of this, however, poor innocent child~))

Minako nodded. "Yeah, you were," she said. Immediately regretting the harshness of her words, she quickly reached out and grabbed Kunzite's hand. "I'm sorry! I... was... that..." she stopped and blushed, retracting her hand and running it through her hair. "Sorry."

She sighed and continued. "More recently you were reincarnated with three others to serve under Queen Beryl again. Sailor Moon, myself and the others were forced to... to," she paused, "Well, you get the idea, before you all destroyed Earth." She laughed weakly, attempting to lighten the mood. "That's why I was surprised you were alive. I'm worried the woman in your dreams is Queen Beryl, and she's calling you to her services again."

"Please, don't be sorry," Kunzite said as his eyes refused to look up at Minako. "It's not as if you were the one to make me do such things. But...I just don't feel like I would have the capability to do such horrible things."

"If it's anything, I don't think the woman in my dream is this Queen Beryl. She didn't seem evil at all."

Minako breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good... that gives me hope that at least she's not back..." She looks past Kunzite, also avoiding his gaze. "I don't know why you did those things. I wish I could tell you." She smiles. "But I think the important thing is that you wouldn't do them now... right?"
