I am almost done with The Sirens of Titan. It's been amazing. I don't have a lot of #1 favorites of any media. Lost is my favorite TV show, but I don't have a favorite album or a favorite movie. For the longest time, I never had a favorite book. Now I think I do.
My 2nd interview at JHT went really well. The other proposal writer there told me that he'd tell the higher-ups to hire me. I am waiting for them to call me back. Come on.
My mom is doing better. The doctors are pretty sure they got out all of the melanoma. She is still very weak and her workplace (Disney) is obligated under law to find her a more suitable job. She is on vacation until they do so. But she is the kind of person who really wants to get back to work. You would think she'd be loving having time off to rest, but honestly, I think her work has been keeping her going and upbeat all these years. When she doesn't work and she sits at home all day, she becomes increasingly more depressed. That's not healthy for her at all.
I have been trying to become healthier, too. It's been slow but I'm getting there. I haven't bought soda for a couple months and don't need a drop of caffeine to get through the day. Sometimes I get soda when I'm out at restaurants and stuff but that's it. I bought some running shoes and started going for walks and runs along Blanchard Trail like I said I would a long while ago. It feels good to notice my endurance get stronger every day. I can run a mile now. Now the next step is really eating healthier. It's a pain in the ass to cook for one.
