Near Future

I'm back in Orlando. My roommate moved back to Korea. Luckily I don't have to worry about finding someone to rent the other room because it's a separate lease. Not as many people start up during the Spring semester as the Fall semester, and since it's a student-only apartment complex it's unlikely that I'll be getting another roommate here. I might. If I do, it'll be within the next few days. Yay for random roommates. It's a gamble but at least I don't have to worry about finding someone. Not my problem.

When someone moves out of your apartment here, you're not supposed to have access to the vacated room. But just to be cute, I had to break into it. The locks of the rooms (but not the apartment door) have pretty cheap locks. I easily picked the lock with a credit card... if you can even call that picking. More like prying. In any case, he left behind bedsheets and a really old TV set. He also left behind a lot of cooking stuff in the kitchen. Obviously he couldn't bring it all back with him on the plane.

It wouldn't be the first time living alone in this apartment. It's a funny thing, you know: I never interacted with my roommmates much in the past, I keep to myself. But it's nice to know I'm not the only one here. It's less lonesome. But simultaneously, I appreciate the serenity of being alone. It's a blessing and a curse.

After this semester, I'll finally be moving out of Pegasus Pointe. I lived here my entire four years of college, not counting going back to Clermont for breaks. The place isn't amazing, but I think I'll be really nostalgic of it in the future.

After I graduate, the easy road is to move back into my parents house... start building up a writing portfolio while living under their roof, maybe getting some lame job in Clermont and saving money. It's probably the smartest, most efficient route. But I don't want to do that. I don't think I'll learn as much from doing that. I want to try to live on my own and pay my own bills. I have a decent amount of money saved up to help me start off, plus my parents are always there just in case the whole thing falls apart. That kind of cushion is nice. My gaming buddy Joey wants to move to Orlando, so I may be trying to find a place with him. I'm moving out of Pegasus Pointe by July 31st... so if someone has a house or something with 2 rooms available around then, that would be awesome. Additionally, recommendations for apartments somewhere around Orlando (not necessarily around UCF) would also be appreciated. And of course, jobs in Orlando... yeah... I need to start thinking about those too.

I'm starving. Time to sleep.
