"Incroyable..." - Le Beeck
Wow, LJ sure has changed since the last time I visited.
Anyway, check it out, I'm updating!
In two weeks, I'll be flying to Nantes for a special summer school and conference in the area of math I work in (symplectic geometry/topology... there'll be some stuff on contact geometry/topology too). This seems like an excellent opportunity to resurrect this journal and bring it back as a travel blog... written mostly in English, since my French has gotten embarrassingly bad. ("Incroyable," says M. Beeckman, somewhere over 500 miles away.)
I'm more than a little nervous about the trip. Not counting that time I was 13 or 14 and took the Greyhound to Montreal with my family, this'll be my first trip out of the country. So... three weeks in a foreign country, doing math with a bunch of people I've never met. Eh. It'll be an experience.
Just gotta roll with it... Hopefully I'll have Internet access while there so I can update. :P
