its raining today.
i forgot how amazing the first rain is. all it encompasses. the smell, the overall feel of the wet air against you. the chill. the soggy leaves that stick to the bottom of your shoes. the little droplets that sprinkle your cheek bones and nose. but mostly the sound. it is so peaceful. i'm sitting in my room, window slightly cracked, computer resting on my lap, and the warm glow of my christmas lights on. books and miscellaneous papers spread around me. and empty cereal bowl on the ground. its one of those days. just quiet. and cold. where you want to be inside curled up in your bed with a good book day. the type of day that makes your tired, even though you haven't done anything.
i love it. even after growing up in salem, with wet autumns, wet winters, and wet springs. i love it.
