Things have been ok
I was able to rescue the hard drive from my old desktop. Especially excited about this because of all the music and photos I had on it.
My uncle was put in the hospital Friday. Him and his family came down this past week to help my parents out with a few things. My uncle was on the roof checking for a leak and fell off. He cracked 10 ribs and a couple of vertebra. He has been having problems breathing because of the pain and started getting pneumonia as a result. Mom said he was doing better today. We are trying to figure out the best way to get him back to Ohio.
I was not able to ride my motorcycle around this weekend. The battery was dead again. Im taking it to the shop tomorrow to swap it out.
I need to get some more practice time in for my course.
Ive been reading this book "Founding Brothers" by Joseph J. Ellis. It is really good. It covers the core founding fathers of The United States and the relationships they had with each other. I bought another one of Ellis' books the other day "After The Revolution". This book covers the lives of American artisans who struggled in a post-revolutionary country to create a national culture that is worthy of world wide recognition. Obviously the US didn't become the cultural epicenter of the world (I think there is too much diversity for that, which is not a bad quality) but it's neat to see someone else's vision of what it should have been.
Ive been addicted to Apocalypto lately. There aren't too many books on the Maya except for spiritual guides... not my bag.
Georgia beat Miami in its first game of the College World Series. I typically hate baseball but I was glued to the TV last night just begging the Bulldogs to pull something out of their magic hat. They did and I was very proud. They have another game on Monday against Stanford. If they can upset the best team in the country (Miami) I don't see why they cant take it all the way.
I thought to myself what if Georgia wins the CWS after already winning the National Championships in Gymnastics, National Championship in Mens Tennis, Equine National Championships, and then takes the BCS title at the end of the football season. Who could top that crew?
Im going to go read now... bye.
