I'm glad it's always a ridiculously long period of time in between my posts. Oh well. Sooo, I guess that means I've got a lot to catch up on.
So I finished my first year of college about a month ago. I can honestly say that I completely hated Wayne State when I first started going there. I hated the drive and the fact that I didn't live on campus. I couldn't stand that I didn't very many people there and that I had to go five days a week when everyone else I knew that was a commuter only went 2 or 3. But second semester hit and I had a change of heart and decided to actually give WSU a chance. Started hanging out with Tina more and meeting mroe people. Partied a few times at the Pike house<3, and I met A TON of people. I most definitely am glad and love just about every person I met this year. I also did something I never thought I'd do...I joined a sorority. Kappa Delta ♥ The girls I've met are actually really sweet. Which leads me to my next point.
Because of the time and monetary committment, I probably will be forced to drop out of the pledging process. Under any other circumstances I'd probably still be able to make it happen. However, my mom has gotten very sick in the last year. She's been in and out of hospitals, meeting tons of doctors, always has a cabinet full of meds, and currently now way too much money owed in hospital and doctors fees since mid-October 2008. She just spent the last week in a hospital after undergoing a surgical biopsy on her lung, and her report came back positive for Leiomyosarcoma (or Spindle Cell Cancer). She's meeting with the sarcoma specialist at Karmanos on Tuesday, and after that she'll meet with her oncologist. Hopefully everything goes well from there.
On the plus note though, Uncle Brian bought us sky-diving tickets so my mom can do something totally BADASS before she starts treatment =]
