Who loves band? I love band.
So technically, the marching season is over. Last night was a our last compeition. It went extremely well. We really did win the whole enchilada this time. I can proudly say I have contributed to the ridiculously large trophies in band room now.
While Mr Bennett was explaining to us that we are the first to start competing nationally and that we should be proud knowing that we were stepping on unknown territory for Highland, Patrick patted me on the back and said "I hope you are in the first group that takes us to BOA...". At that point I could have just lost it. I kept it together pretty well, but I did cry. Last night was no doubt one of my best performances ever. I think the whole band feels that way and that's why we won. The colorguard even stepped it up, which totally shocked me.
Things are going to change a lot next year and that scares me. Patrick and I decided that we need to be more social as a section and hang out more. This year, we hardly got to know most of our section. I know that next year will only be my second year, but I am hoping to get a say in things that happen within the section. Patrick can pick a co-section leader and if he doesn't pick a senior, I hope he picks me because we seem work well together.
