I am back from Fall Tour with a bitter sweet feeling. No doubt was it one of the most fun trips of my life, but disappointing at the same time. I know we did out best. We couldn't have been expected to win over there.
Here's the run down: We got first in our class/division (AAAAA) only because there was one other AAAAA band we had to compete with. But for captions, the other band took sweepstakes, meaning they won all of the captions. Sweepstakes is way better than first place. So I feel as if we got first be defualt kind of. Then we got 2nd or 3rd overall(I'm not sure because we as a band did not discuss the results and there was a freeway behind us during the award ceremony). Everyone was a little disappointed.
For our two rehearsals there, we grew so much. Having Mr.Holly (the guy who wrote our drill) there helped so much. The bad thing was that we practiced on a black top that was 20 yards smaller than a football field. It was so terrible. Mr Bennett was right, we are spoiled. Very spoiled. Then we got to the competition and the grass was fake, but they tried to make it feel real. In all actuality, it was really rubbery and slippery. Not good.
We had two field judges. I heard one of the talking on their tape behind me. It was a little nerve racking.
I got to experience the wonderful atmosphere of BTR's. Haha. I could have had one but I did not. I am waiting for the right time. I hope that time comes soon.
I loved my roomates! Erin and Allison are hilarious! Erin does the best impression of Mr Haenfler! HAHAHA. Wow.
Disneyland was amazing! Lots o fun.
On the way there we watched DCI videos and the movie Drumline. It was so fun. You know you're a band geek when...hahaha.
I can't wait for this weekend. We are going to have to work so hard this week.
On alighter note, I am almost positive that I made symphony!!!!! And I suggested to Fabian that next year instead of marching band or marching pride we should be called Hawk Regiment, what do you think?
