i'm completely re-thinking this whole ap biology thing. what i really want to take is latin, but alas, there are no classics classes available that period. what IS available is advanced journalism, which is basically an ap class for kids who are obsessive about writing. and a requirement of the course is that you must join and contribute to the ( Read more... )

Congratulations!! I've heard that test is tough. But do you mean that you took Bio freshman or sophomore year, and then just retained enough information (plus a little help from the review book) to score a 3 on the AP exam? I'm not sure I can do that. And I might have to actually take a lab science this year in order to fulfill all the course requirements of certain colleges. So that'd leave me with either Marine Bio (no, no, please no - it's full of seniors who are still stuck in Geometry); AP Bio, which I'm not sure I can handle; or Physics, which I know I cannot handle, seeing as I break out into hives anytime someone so much as mentions the phrase "mathematical equation".
I agree with you; I think it's disgusting that the Republican Party manages to find a single black man that agrees with their outrageously conservative and restrictive policies, and then parades him out in front of the entire nation as if to say, "Hey, look! We ARE treating the black poopulation fairly! Just listen to this puppet spout off our slanted propaganda, and you'll surely see that the Republican Party is the choice for anyone who is looking to ignore the rights of others in order to bring home a couple more million each day!" I understand that our defense budget needs to be strong (even though I am against war, I realize at this point, all of our leaders are in a little too deep to say, "Hey, why can't we all just get along?"), but I really think we need to focus more on putting funds toward improving America from the inside out. What about the homeless, the starving, the ill-educated? When are we going to start passing laws that actually benefit the people who truly have no say in our governmental system? I say we take money away from NASA (I'm sorry, I just fail to see the point of finding out whether or not the atomsphere on Mars can support human life, seeing as it would take us five million years to figure out how to build something there, anyway) and focus on internal issues. I just wish I could vote already! And yeah, the DNC was a little over-the-top, with all the celebrity support. I think John Kerry is sort of the lesser of two evils here, though.

I forgot to ask . . . How was France?! I read your entry, but I haven't had a chance to comment yet, so is there anything else you want to share?
