tuning out i look about the room
my gaze meets yours immediately
your eyes look intently into mine
as if searching for something unknown to us both
looking deep down yet not even scratching the surface
you are locked in concentration
digging me a well of curiosity
the words not uttered from your lips
scream at me through your dark brown eyes
full of insecurity and anticipation
i peel my eyes away from yours
my heartbeat returns to normal
and my butterflies settle down
the people around me now come into focus
still in the conversation i had left just moments before
how those few sceonds could have felt like such an eternity
i do not know
had nobody felt or seen what i had just experienced
no
no one 
it was just you and me
we had shared a moment
of that i am sure
one i will never forget
