What has happened? Oh, Arthur, did you really...? I only wished for us to be together as we should have been; was that so very wrong? We would have been man and wife that very night had death not taken me before our wedding, though I would have given you something far better had Dr Van Helsing not kept you from my arms: for instead of death as a parting, it would have brought you to me for all time.
I kept a diary once before, though it was not written in nearly so much as my dear Mina's. She would very much like this machine, I think. Oh, I do so hope she is happy and well with her Jonathan.
How very strange it is to wake here this evening! My current surroundings are not unlike the place I had expected to find myself had Arthur and the others not--, though I can see that what lies beyond is very different.
Will someone please grant me the great favour of telling me where I am~? I shall be quite grateful. ♥
