I've been studying similar surgeries since 1908 when Dr. Charles Guthrie began experimenting on dogs. White's work on monkeys in early 1970 was an incredible achievement and now Canavero believes that such an operation

I'm very interested to see what comes from this, much like I was with face transplants. I've read about a little about these experiments too, but not enough to call myself anything other than someone with a morbid curiousity. I never imagined that they would try with people. It makes me wonder how they're going to deal with all the nerves and blood vessels, and the other more fiddly bits of anatomy.

What you believe or do not believe won't change the facts. I'm still not ready to discuss it at length, but it is my own failure which inspires my interest in Canavero's experiment. I have to know if it can be done.

I don't recall any accusations of manipulation when you offered your throat to my waiting lips. Or did I coerce you into that as well?

You know I accept it all. Perhaps anyone who reads this believes that talk of manipulation is a sign of enmity between us. Instead of a promise. Instead of anticipation.

Not all friction is unwelcome.

There is more truth in this than in pretending it isn't so.

We are all sublime beings, capable of infinite grace, but we are also raw and greedy. That's the sum of a living being and it's often better fed this way.
