ONTD_AI CON
So, my main fandom is a sci-fi show, and we are lucky enough to have conventions to meet up at. Those of you who were on com on Tuesday night might remember me drunkenly inviting all 5,000 of you to my house in January.
Here's the thing, I wasn't just drunk. I had been talking about it earlier.
I TALKED TO MY HUSBAND AND GOT THE OKAY - HE AND OUR BROTHER/ROOMATE ARE GONNA GO STAY UP AT HIS FOLKS PLACE FOR THE WEEKEND AND LET US FLAIL IN PEACE.
Starting in mid October, I'll start the for serious planning.
I HAVE A FEW IDEAS - THIS COULD BOIL DOWN IN A FEW WAYS
We have a small group of 5-20 all staying at my house. (LOL 20 women, one bathroom. I foresee FUN TIMES)
Activites:
1. Season 8 re-watch and flail
2. Doing "confessionals" and other video projects.
3. Making some sort of shitty scout campesque craft project
4. I am totally srs about going to church at Danny's parish. Might be a trip and I think some people (Devon_carrots) would be actsh interested. This could be optional. The ppl that didn't stay home and start my house on fire or some shit.
5. Drinking/pretending to drink for those of us under 21 ;)
6. Making Gingerbread Idols and ~ posing them
We have a larger group that will require hotels.
1. I will call around and get us a hotel that will let us use a conference room and projector for free
2. Season 8 rewatch and *group participation* games
3. ONTD_AI Idol.
4. We make music videos to Adam and Kris's albums.
5. Drinking/pretending to drink for those under 21
6. Existing on a diet of little ceasar's pizza and doughnuts
7. Inviting Trugs, Joel, Cheeks, and other idol-celebrities and LOLing when they don't show up.
8.) Some sort of large charity thing. IDK
***I have other ideas for the big one but I am probably getting pie-in-the-sky***
Seriously,though, why doesn't Idol have Sci-FI style conventions where people pay for admission, pay for autographs, pay for posed photos, and get to listen to Q and A's? This would take in so much money, they'd have to do like four a year. I am sure some of the lower-placed idols would be grateful to connect with the fans - Michael Sarver has had a HUGE jump in his popularity from interacting with fans this summer and something like that would only give them more opportunity to do so. I should write 19 about this and then laugh at myself for thinking someone will read it.
