busy busy busy
i've been working, lab job out in the field but hot afternoons in the basement. + i take in a discman w/ mini speakers and a couple dozen cds which makes the time go by quick-like.
last night we had a party... we had planned to have a bunch of bands play, but then cancelled it. but then the dudes who were going to play said they told too many people to cancel it on such short notice. ie all the micropunks were over at our house, but thankfully did not fuck too much up. the music was ok, i'm not a fan of punk, much less the scene, much less the 14 year olds who are probably breaking curfew to hang out at our place and drink 40s of old e. and smoke cigarettes. and whatever else they do, stand around and try to look cool i guess. but i did smoke a lot so the night wasn't a total loss.
on friday night we went to alison's on 19th & buchanan for her party. just like she promised there was lots of saccharine-sweet girly drinks with paper umbrellas. i drank a fair amount all night and quite enjoyed myself. chatted with the girls from the adequits, they're nice & played so well! it was the first time i had seen any of: the wobblies, the adequits, half ton of fun. after the latter mentioned, ben & i went upstairs for awhile & outside to chat. we found nate on the porch, well beyond drunk, sitting in his puke on the porch. brian and ben and i finally got him up moving around, walked to the park since bjorn & other housemates were closing up their house for the night. we got our bikes & sat on the side of chs for awhile to sober up. sitting turned into sleeping, then it was 5am, daylight breaking. nate was still stumbly but i said fuck it dude! i'm tired of being babysitter, then biked home. next to central park a house was teepeed the night before & i collected some much needed tissue for the house. i went to bed and i don't know when they got home but everybody seemed ok but well knackered. but the whole night was so fun, we mused for the next following days about how much fun it was. cheers alison.
on saturday we went to the mary's for a swim but there were tons of people there. we moved up stream, but still couldn't escape the young frat/sorostitute wannabes. + the river is icky due to all the livestock runoff from the osu dairy. thanks folks!
been hanging out with amber and autumn lately, last week we all went down to the luckiamutte to cool off with river water and pabst. autumn is good at throwing strawberries in the water, throwing rocks at her dog (in good humour), and other silly stuff. brian has taught her how to lick batteries and she gets people beers from the fridge now too. what a lil sweetheart...
got my security deposit back from living in the halls last year in bangor ($127 or 70 pounds) which is almost what i paid, 75 pounds. that will go to pay rent, or pay deposit to ben at this place or pay dad for the $70 carborator fix in the car which i hope he had forgotten about. they should be glad i'm not in the uk anymore, asking for money & spending goddamn pounds. at least i'm back to american dollars now.
still haven't seen paige, kaylea, sesh, nordby, any of them and i've been home almost a month.
