it's that time again! for the third annual valentine playlist!
This year i decided to go bigger and better! (insert that's what she said joke here)
To celebrate a decade that has passed (one i actually remember) i decided to kick it old school and make actual mixtapes...you know, the kind that play on cassette players (remember those?).
so this year i chose 40 people from my inbox to receive said physical mixtape.
it's been on my list for so long to send some really cool valentines and found the perfect opportunity.
it was a long arduous process of song selection and of arguing about what the cover would look like with the designer (aka, the boyfriend), but i'm really proud of the outcome and i hope you all enjoy it too.
now, sorry if you were not one of the 40 that received a physical mixtape, but do not fret because i have uploaded a digital version for your listening enjoyment...or if you do not know how to work a tape player, or let alone have one (you all know who you are). i'm just sharin the love!
download here:
a brief history of love, side (a)a brief history of love, side (b)(you have to download from both links to get both sides of the tape)
or if you just want to listen, listen here:
a brief history of love side A a brief history of love side B p.s. who cares if you are not emotionally attached and you hate valentine's day, its not just a day to appreciate your lover/whatever, its a day to also appreciate all the loves in your life, which indeed do include your friends. ^_^
p.p.s. it is tradition to name my playlists after a prominent song in the mix, but this year could not make a decision and it was driving me nuts so went along to be inspired by The Big Pink's album title, A Brief History of Love, it is more than fitting for this playlist, and it is certainly very important since The Big Pink's album was my favorite album of 2009.
enjoy!
much love,
Leedz.
[EDIT]
some of the songs dont play in the order they should...
thats like three on the side a (pains of being pure at heart, múm, brunettes) and on side b (florence & the machine, soko, stars) i think thats all, but anyway, to get them to play in the right order
go to FILE, then GET INFO on your itunes
and on the ALBUM ARTIST option, just erase the band name
after you do that for those, it should play in the correct order.
what a trek! sorry, duly noted for the next playlist [/EDIT]
