You're going to have to make a decision of what you want with your life. You at least have that decision. I did not. I was forced to become a soldier.
Keep in mind that you can not just put down the mask when you feel like it, and be Terry the student instead. You will have to learn how to handle both personalities if that is the life you want to lead. People have come to depend on you in both lives.

I get that you were force into being a solider, but that's what you are. Am I supposed to feel sorry for you or something?

I know I have a choice. But it's not exactly easy being both a student and a hero at the same time. Maybe now it's easier since I'm accepted as Batman here and there's no crooks to come after my friends and family. So it may seem like I just goof off. But back at home I gotta deal with that. I have to be a savior and I have to make sure I don't mess up in case some dreg decides to come after my mom and my twip of a brother.

So don't go acting all high and mighty because you can be just who you are.

Believe it or not I care about you and my comrades. It's because of that I am harsh. I don't want to see you making the same mistake I had done long ago.

I've already made mistakes and I paid for them. I was in a gang. I got sent to juvie. I had no respect for my father and he died because of it. So that's why I do this. To repent for all the crap I put everyone through. So I know all about making mistakes.
