Say Hello to the Angels

Today my horoscope said , "Nostalgia is a double-edged sword. Don't hold on too long to things that are stale". Which turned out to be quite apt. As I was heading to work, I saw the first boy I ever kissed Steve Schwab (of horrible) on the stair case by Sears. I looked right at him and began to laugh, he saw me to, but I don't think he recognised me. I don't really know why I laughed, probably because of the horoscopes accuracy or maybe of how much has changed or how much has stayed the same. I heeded my horoscopes warning and didn't think about the event and its relation to nostalgia too much. Work wasn't as good as it usually is, not too many people needing assistance or just being friendly for that matter.

And now a rant. So bascially, I have been think a lot about fear and how it functions as both a political tool and a medium through which we interact with one another. It was all mostly half-baked. Anyway, it came to a connecting point tonight, while watching the Daily Show, Jon Stewart (while talking to Al Gore about global warming) something to the effect of "We have been desensitised to fear, tell us why we should be scared about this" ...something like that. And you know, after thinking about it. There's a lot we are told to be afraid of it, surely there's some legitimacy to some of it, but I am feeling a complete lack of fear, maybe its because I am young or maybe I can't comprehend living life afraid of everything. Here's a small list of stuff (some legit some not) that we are meant to be afraid of :
