So I was hoping for like, a nice relaxed work day. Yeah, riiiiight.
I get a call as I'm finishing getting dressed, it's Marcia, and she's throwing up blood. She's gotten Lindsay to come in and set up the bar for her, but is there anyway that I can cover the bar once we open cause a)Lindsay can't actually work all day, b) she'll still be throwing up. This of course hindges upon the number of servers we have on the floor. Luckily we had enough to keep going without me -- but for some fucked up reason Reggie wanted to give me a section PLUS the bar. Ok, so does he give me the rounds that are actually NEAR the bar? Oh noooooooo. I get the hole, which is up stairs and behind the bar back, so I can't even see the section when I'm behind the bar. I quickly tell Sherry to try not to seat me until Marcia gets there. I dial Marcia - "They gave you a section? What the fuck?" Yes. My sentiments exactly. Fortunately Marcia kicks ass and hurried to the doc to get a shot and came in about 15 minutes later. At this point I've already been told I'm getting a 10 top, plus I have bar guests right now, not to mention the orders coming in from other servers for their tables AND - since Danton's such a suck ass bartender, there's no batch mix - ABSOLUTELY NONE, so add that to my to do list. Just as I was getting ready to cry, wet my pants and scream simultaneously - Marcia came around the corner, "What do you have going on here?" Uhm, alot.
So just as soon as she gets there Reggie pulls me off the bar, and says "I'm moving you." He apparently had to send Staci home (I found out later that she had been on her cell phone, as per usual, but instead of letting it slide like they always do, Reggie actually took a stand this time - FUCK YEAH! - and Staci was unbelievably rude to him. I was really hoping she'd gotten fired, but apparently not), so I have to take over her section. Small problem - Staci SUCKS, so I get up there and there's a ten top with no drinks, and 3 angry tables of guests. Reggie ends up having to comp off 2 tables food, I get the ticket for another table and they only tip me a buck each, and then I have to go get the drinks for the ten top. I lucked out though cause apparently Staci had been such a bitch to the big top that they wanted to put it to her real good...and they did...by tipping me WELL. I got tipped $35, and loved every minute of it. I was continously sat throughout the day, and my feet ached and I was getting a headache, but I ended up with $85...for five hours work. And really? I was only on the floor for 3 hours. Gotta love it.
