I'm going to try updating this thing more. Yes, yes, I am.
Why in the world do people post those ridiculous "WOULD U KISS ME?//" bulletins on Myspace or other online places of teenage hang-outery? My experience is that people almost never go straight out and tell someone they like them. And if they do, why in the world would they tell their potential love interest on Myspace of all places? Maybe it's just the people I know. Maybe there are people there who go around professing their love to others via Myspace bulletin. To that, I say: "Yikes."
I made it into Honor Band. Huzzah. I'm kind of upset that I didn't get a higher chair, but I'll live. I'm just glad I got in.
The other day, I listened to Wolf Parade for the first time. "I'll Believe In Anything", to be specific. And wow, what a song. What a band. I'm defiinitely asking my parents to get me "Apologies to the Queen Mary" for Christmas. I definitely agree with the Pitchfork review of the album: in a few years, I'll remember the first time I heard it.
In other music news, I listened to "Cosmia" off of Joanna Newsom's new album Ys. What a beautiful song. While the orchestral arrangements may seem pretentious to some, I think this is a great step for her. The track seems so much more full and rounded out than the stuff on The Milk-Eyed Mender. It's also longer than her earlier stuff, but I think it's better thsi way. Also asking for this CD for Christmas.
