Happy Holidays I'm Off to Vegas
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!
Well, I'm leaving shortly for the Brat's...who may not survive the holiday.
First it was no presents, going on a trip. Then it was not going on a trip (to Disneyland) but only doing one big & one small gifft from each of us to each of the others. Ok, I made that adjustment. Annoyed because it left me little time to do anything (well from my POV), but I did manage it. I have one big & one little one for each of them. OK, I only have 1 giant one for Todd, but it's big because we each went in on a laptop.
Andrew has the stupid present from hell deep fryer and a bunch of manicure stuff he wanted, so his nails would look nice and neat. I was glad to do this because they often will ask me for manicures when I'm there.
The Brat of course got his giant stupid ipod. Plus I copied the pic of our Mom from when she was 17. (It's quite gorgeous as she looks like Lana Turner in it.) Now the Brat has been trying for over 20 years to get this pic from me. I won't give him my original, but the copy actually turned out very nice. It's in a nice frame too.
So what have they been doing? Getting bunches of things for each other!!!
I keep getting these phone calls..."What do you think about such & such for so & so?"
"Uh, I thought you got him this & that."
"Well, yeah I did, but I'm also going to get him that & this."
This would be ok, but we are not talking cheap/inexpensive gifts here. The whole point was to not go overboard like last year. I followed the rules.
Now, I am going to feel really stupid that I didn't do more for Andrew and Todd. So what am I going to do when I get into town? I'm going SHOPPING TWO DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!
I may just buy some gift cards and be done with it, but still this entails driving amongst the maniacs that make up Vegas.
Do you see this face? This is my pouting face. Thank heavens I always go in early. I point blank, absolutely, definitely, will not, categorically refuse to go shopping on Christmas Eve. I mean this. I won't do it. I'll go today, but that...is...it. Finite, done, finished, no more.
