Whee! Also blogs and website
So, it's been a while since I wrote a journal here. Things have been busy and crazy and I haven't really wanted to write anything here. Since things have happened and picked up some, I figured I could write an entry.
I'm going to start with the thing that has me so excited I want to squeal excessively. I'm (hopefully) starting a graduate program in April. I'm enrolled and ready to go April 5th, but I have to wait until they get my transcripts and my financial aide is confirmed. I must admit that I'm mildly concerned that something is going to screw up and I won't get to go, but I'm trying to be optimistic. I'm attending National University in an accelerated online MFA in Creative Writing. Now, before anyone goes "OMGZ ONLINE?? OMGZ ACCELERATED?!?!?!" Or something... the school is accredited and reputable. So yah! MFA in writing. Crazy, right? Yaaaaaah. I'm thrilled! At the end of May next year, I should have my MFA. WOO! Also, I checked on the books I need for my first two classes and one of them is On Writing by Stephen King. Hahahaha, epic, right? EXCITE. And because I'm totally geeking out about this right now, I'm going to show you all my schedule.

So yah! Woooooo! I just hope I can get Financial Aide. I'm freaking out about the Aide. I don't see it as an issue.... but I'm always worried something will screw me over once I've gotten my hopes up. There was an issue getting my SJSU transcripts. (Which, by the way, SJSU is so incompentent.) They are "overloaded" and it was going to take 4-5 weeks. But, I spoke to someone who said they would take care of it and I received a confirmation that they will start processing on Monday. So, hopefully that means it will get there by the end of the month and will get to NU before my classes start. On a side note, I think I've lost my mind because I'm possibly considering getting my phd at some point. Yes, I said PHD. Some people think I'm mental for thinking about it already *coughemilycough* but I dunno. I'm interested. I already have a bunch of ideas for things I want to explore not just for my masters thesis, but if were going to do a disseration or something.
In other news.... uuuuuh. I have changed up my website and added a couple blogs. Check out my site: http://www.nrwick.com Yah, I'm totally guilty of using a premade, free design. Even though I could totally make it myself (and have does so as recently as the last time), I am just sick of trying to figure shit out for it. So, I decided to get over it and use a lovely premade template. I just need to get some articles finished for it. But in addition to that, I have this blog where I blog about writing and learning and sometimes art. It's called Scribble Me This. Since it's supposed to be a part of my website, it's got the same design.
But! I've started a blog for this project I'm working on. I'm writing a book called The Land of No Angels and it's about a girl trying to save her sister from dying after being poisoned by a demon. Demons have overrun Earth and humans are sparce. I think this will be a series of maybe 3 books. Anyway, I've started this blog for me to write some short stories and writing exercises based on the main character. It's going to be journal style and I think I will do drawings for it too. It could be awesome. The blog is here at The Afterlife of Rebecca Ashford. I'm working to set it up to have a url with my website, so the url will change soon.
Also, I don't think I put it on this journal, but part of my goals for 2010 was to read 3 books per month. So far, I have kept it up. I wonder if I will be able to keep up once school starts. I'm a bit behind this month because I've only read 1, but I'm going to try to finish up the second one this weekend. I've started a book called House of Dark Shadows, but I keep getting distracted. XD
Jeez! I've rembled on for ages! Hahahahahaha, and it only took like 2 days to write it. Well, I'm done then! TTFN
