(no subject)
from the chaos in my apartment in basement, i am calling the cd bin party a success. a bunch of records were taken and people seemed to have fun.
instead of 3 separate sets, we all played together for a bit. adam from winters recorded it. there will probably be an icelandic only release of 24. noise jokes.
sat with the mpc tonight loading samples and setting loops up. i have to sit more with it. i'm rusty and weary of just using it as an extension. i still haven't found my perfect workflow besides just playing and writing parts. i need to layer more though.
i'm being dragged, not even kicking and screaming away from guitar. i love the instrument. but being gear minded, techinical it lends itself to a certain criteria. like today i got a call from a friend that a pedal was broken. then another call from someone else with a gear problem. it's not bad, it's just.....work? i troubleshoot day to day and it's just funny using that mentality otherwise. i'll still keep writing and using it, but i am seeing a definate drift away from it.
but the noise/synth setup is coming together. at least in my gourd. it involves a pedalboard on the floor and a synth(or 2) on a keyboard stand. possibly the mpc on board there too. need a bit more modulation and possibly another filter.
