(no subject)
so the gain pot on my second channel of the sunn is broken. i never use that channel but at the studio, it was in use. and for the end part of a song i needed distortion, so i was working on it and lo and behold it didn't work. so boo.
double so i have to get it fixed. but then a light went off. i wanted to get the bad cat hot cat for so long because of the channel blending feature. i love the sunn clean and distortion channel so why not try to replicate that. it's going in for service anyway and there are bunch of people in chicago who do mods. there is space on the chassis for another input jack. shouldn't be too hard me thinks. plus whatever i pay it will be like half of what the hot cat would be.
then i would still have access to the effects loop on and off. reverb. blah blah blah. i'm gonna call a couple places today and see what they say before i take it in.
if anyone has suggestions of good amplifier repair shops in chicago who would be good candidates for this, let me know.
