Reply to this post by yelling "Words". I'll pick five words that I associate with you. Post to your journal about those words and get your friends to do the same. These are five words
annifa chose for me.
1) Bristol
2) Tattoos
3) Cars
4) Gardens
5) Children
Bristol - Yup, the place I live. Not by choice. If I could move away from the city, I would. J wants to stay until his senior schooling is finished, by which time the other two will be going through GCSE-land and little one will be almost ready to start seniors. So I am kinda stuck in the vacinity for at least another 6 or so years.
I have lived in worse places, but also lived in waaaay better.
The vandalism, theft and general attitudes of Bristolians sometimes makes me ashamed to live here and have an accent associated with the South.
If I could choose where to move to....it'd be somewhere coastal. Bournemouth again probably. (Jordache was born there, I wish I'd never left.)
Tattoos - Absolutely LOVE them. On a man they are oh-so-sexy. On a girl, strategically placed they look stunning.
Mine? Humm....not as strategically placed as I'd like them to be honest. But they all have significant meaning to me, and they make me who I am.
I have A phoenix on the base of my back. Basically because I just keep on rising. Life has been pretty pooh in the past, and has knocked me straight into the ground....but I am still here, fighting, and re-inventing myself to survive.
Above my phoenix, in the centre of my back, I have the emblem of the REME. Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. My Dad was an ASM in the army. Brutally and unfairly taken away from me when I was pregnant with my daughter 12 years ago come October. Every day I carry his greatest passion with me, his work. He lived and died for it.
On my left arm I have my four kids names, for obvious reasons, and above it a chinese symbol for "Eternity". They will always be mine, and I'll always be theirs.
On my right arm I have a dragon wrapped around a celtic circle. The dragon is the ying/yang to my phoenix, but I didn't know that until after I had both done.
My dragon covers up 2 tattoos, one of a baby tiger cub I had done (and regretted) when I was 18....and the name "Paul" written in japanese. (Paul was H's Dad) Never again will I have anybodies name put on my body, unless I am blessed with another child at some point.
Cars - Well, what can I say. My lucks completely and utterly SUCKS when it comes to cars!! LOL
I only have enough finance to buy second hand, and there is not one car I have sold on for a profit. I have either had to scrap them, or sell for "Spare or repair"!! LOL
I learnt how to drive when I was pregnant with H, so I passed my test in July 2002.
At the moment I have a reasonably good car, A Ford Escort. It's lovely. I have had repairs to do on it, and I have only had it 4 months, but it's a pretty sound car to be fair.
I am desperate to get a people carrier. One example is today. I picked up my neice to have her overnight tonight. I had to leave J at home, so I had enough room. Also every time Tim wants to come with us on an outing, we have to take 2 cars. It's a pain.
Gardens - Many years ago, on LJ, I almost sold my children as slaves to weed gardens!! LOL *laugh*
At the moment, I am not happy with my garden. It's been broken into and violated in the past week or so. It's not secure and it makes me feel unsafe.
However, the garden we have now is quite big. (65ft x 28 ft) We're hoping to fence the whole thing quite soon, so we're enclosed.
Children - Yup, I have a houseful!! LOL I have 4 children, ages 15, 13, 12 and 7. They are my life, they are the reason I live, the reason I get up in the morning, the reason I keep battling.....and oh my have I had some battles!!
I have chosen them over every other choice I have been given, and will continue to do so until I am put in my grave!
None of their fathers are around (I have 4 children from 3 relationships) the door has always been left open, but they have chosen to not be a part of their lives. That's their loss.
They make me smile, cry, yell, giggle, shout, run, teach......
I'd stand in front of a bullet for any of them and not even have to think twice about it.
They've taught me what it feels like to love unconditionally and uncontrollably.
