Lesson one: you must watch what you are cooking or else it will burn, even if the suggested cooking time is only half way through.
Lesson two: the temperature settings on ovens have no real meanting what so ever. they just give you the illusion of control.
Lesson three: if something says stir occasionally it means frequently and if it says frequently it means constantly.
Lesson four: Who ever said cooking is chemistry was full of shit. Chemistry is about determining the nature of a substance by attempting to get it to react. Chemistry is about precision, forsight and procedure. You get definate repeatable results from an initiated reaction. You use understandable and well defined units. Nothing at all like cooking.
