Lucky bastard, you know in the end this will only encourage him...

So Brian had his day in court. Heading into it his laer said that the most likely outcome would be that brian would lose his license for six months and end up having to pay $1500 worth of fines. The worst case senario would be that brian has his license completely revoked and would have to wait a year before applying to get a new one. Which would include taking the drivers test over again and being completely at the Mercy of the MVC (Motor Vehicle Commission) formerly the MVS which was formerly the DMV. That place was su fucked up they had to not only change how they were organized twice but also the name. What a state huh? anyway Which outcome would be based entirely on the judges mood.

Before we go any further let me explain something. In Marlboro there are two judges, an easy reasonable judge and then the hanging judge. Brian got the hanging judge as the judge listed on his summons. This is where the first massive stroke of luck comes in. For whatever reason the hanging judge can't be there that day and so the easy judge, who only works once a month is the one presiding over court that day. Brian's lawer somehow manages to talk the prosecuter into only suspending brian's license for 30 days and when brian finnaly gets to go face to face with the judge only counts the speeding ticket against him meaning that instead of having 13 points he only has 5. Also instead of doubling the fines, like he is supposed to, the judge keeps them as normal. meaning that he doesn't have to pay the carless driving fine or the street racing fine and he only pays the normal ammount for the speeding ticket.

Total cost of fines ends up being about $200 and since his license was only suspended not revoked he doesn;t pay the extra insurance surcharge for a revoked license and only pays about 150 dollars to get it back in a month. Meaning total cost of this endeavor 350 dollars for ticket and the reissuing of his license. There is still the five points on his license which will dramtically raise his insusrance, but he can take two safer driving courses, which are pains and cost about 50 buck each, but they also take away 2 points each. Meaning he drops his points down to 1 and his insurance rates will only jump up a little, at least compared to what they would of been with 5 points anyway. All things considered he made out like a bandit and once again escaped utter disaster because of his luck; which will only encourage him to keep on pressing it since so far it has always saved him.
