It was incredibly well written write up until Gina prowled up and cut off Kate's obvious "Listen I'm not the easiest book to read, but I've done some thinking and let's give this a shot." speech. Once they brought the ex-witch in, it veered into super cliched, eye rolling UST territory. The kind of cliched UST that strings the audience along and $%&! with the audience and makes me give up on the show after 3 season (I'm looking at you, Bones). Not to say that the show doesn't do cliches, because they do, often. However they often write them with a twist so that the wheel's reinvented as well as entertaining.
That shit was just lazy. It was just textbook insert the character's names UST plot-
Person 1 "Hey, let's talk." ^_^
Person 2 "Alright, what up?" :)
Person 1 "I was thinking...." <3
Someone who comes up and hangs off of Person 2 "OMG let's go bby!" :D
Person 1 "Wait... I didn't..." O__o
Person 2 "Oh yeah, I haz someone now." :D
Person 1 "Oh.... good for you." ):
Person 2 "What did you want to talk about?" :)
Person 2's Sig Other: *clingy and stoopid
Person 1 "Oh nothing, TTFN." *fake-> :D
Person 2 K thanx bye! XD
Person 1 :'(
*End Scene with sad trendy music*
LAZY WRITING.
What's really depressing as Kate now has no one. While CylonBoy wasn't given much time to develop, he was clearly a swell catch. He was kinda cheesy, but he was a good guy and made her smile and be all adorkably atwitter. Yet then she dumped CylonBoy for Castle, but wasn't able to tell him because Ex-Wife Gina (who we've heard nothing but horrible things about, from Castle) has apparently hooked back up with him? So she dumps a guy she likes to tell the guy she really likes how she feels, only to get proverbially kicked in the teeth in front of all her friends?
And what the fuck was up with Rick having Gina MEET HIM at the PRECINCT? She could have met him at his place before they skipped off to the Hamptons for a summer of sex, writing and emasculation. Having her meet him there was a douchebag move because he flaunts her (the woman who he's said multiple times was a big mistake marriage wise) in front of everyone. Insecure much? Now look, it's not bad he's decided to give Kate her space, especially when she if hanging out/cab/sharing/nuzzling on CylonBoy, he just utterly fails at the actual execution.
I should be excited about next season. Happy excited or OMG excited or some other form of exuberance. But I'm not. I'm rolling my eyes, dreading next year's 'Will They Won't They: Co Starring Gina' and wanting to hug Kate because her life sucks so much right now.
I think I'm going to watch a Disney movie right now....
