Phone etiquette

Now, I'm not normally the person who should be harking about phone etiquette, considering I have the worst phone (and AIM) mannerisms of anyone I know but,

If you are a receptionist, or work in Human Resources, or have a phone at your desk which people call and you're at work: PICK UP THE PHONE. And if someone calls while you are out, and you have a answering machine: LISTEN TO THE MESSAGES AND RETURN THEM.

And if you can't do either of the above, at least before you leave the office that day LISTEN TO YOUR VOICEMAIL and make a note to call the person back the next day.

It boggles my mind how anything gets done.
