I want to rant. Sorry!
3 months (roughly) into fandom. I'm Shinhwa fan since early 2006. But they kinda slowed down their activities and my interest cool off a bit. Being Shinhwa fan, I learn a bit (if not a lot) about fangirling and fandom. I must say that, Kpop fandom has the most scariest fans ever. Especially DBSK and SuJu fans. That's a major turn-off for me.
When I got into Jpop fandom (read JE) I thought the fans were so much nicer. And that's a really cool thing. However, as I dive deeper into this fandom, I realized not all pretty and sunshine over here. There are some thing that I read last couple of days that made my heart ache.
Generally, I love all JE boys. TOKIO, Kinki Kids, Arashi, Tackey & Tsubasa and also Kanjani8. There's only a few that turn me off. I try to like them, but seriously for various reason, I couldn't. My ichiban of course is NEWS. Yamashita Tomohisa is my ichiban ichiban! All NEWS members has special place in my heart.
What I want to rant about is, in last few days, I read about how people critisized Pi. I'm not saying that he's above criticism. He's not perfect afterall. But, I read some hurtful remarks and that really shifted my opinion about the whole JE fandom fangirling.
1) About Pi singing ability. Pi lipsync, all the time, they say. and he couldn't even do it properly. Some even said that he couldn't sing at all.
It's really hurt to read this one. Do you really think if Pi couldn't sing at all, he could release solo CD? Lipsync, yes he do that. But all the time? No! Fricking hell no! My honest opinion, even he's not the ichiban singer out there, he's really a good singer. His tone is easily recognized. He has a very unique tone. Even my housemate whose not a JE fan said so. And he's really a good composer too! God, I really love Colourful. It's my fav Pi's solo.
2) About how awkward Pi in shows.
I think this is about preferences. I personally found this is very endearing. He says honest things and even Nakai said he like him for being able to say those things without being sarcastic.
3) About how Pi got it all easy and NEWS struggled LESS than anyone else. About how Pi was cold towards members early in NEWS history.
I really had enough of this battle of struggles crap in Kpop fandom. In JE (or everywhere fro that matter), no one struggle less than anyone. We have our own problem to deal with. And people need to stop raising the issue of how Pi hated his group members. He's trying. I felt for Pi, a guy who was all about friendship, suddenly forced to betray his own friends. God, how did he get through that one?
4) Grudge against Ryo who use his sharp tongue with certain someone
Get over it already.
5) Uchi and Kusano
Personally, I think those two guys will not come back to NEWS. Ever. I think the Jimusho realized that having them back as NEWS will cause imbalance to the recently-stabilized group. NEWS was very rocky since their formation. Bunch of peoples forced together, then Moriuchi left. Followed by Uchi, then Kusano's scandal. I don't know about Uchi to Eito as I haven't watched them enough. To support my theory of them not coming back, I'd come across several time, where re-debut as 6 members were used. I think subtlely Jimusho want us to know that from now, NEWS is six-membered group.
Gah...my useless rant. Actually, I want to rant more about certain someone from JE too. But, well...I don't think he's worth it!
