We have cat on tablet - I put it directly in her mouth, Ian puts it in her food (and shuts the other cat out)
Me: Have you checked the cat bowl to see if the tablet's gone?
Ian: Yes.
Me: OK.
Later Ian goes through to the front room
Ian: She's eaten the tablet now.
Me: Oh, I thought you said you checked the bowl earlier?
Ian: I did, the tablet hadn't gone though.
Me: Oh, I thought you said it had...
Am I entirely wrong to think that his first 'yes' implies that the tablet had gone? I know that technically he answered right, but would anyone else expect a 'yes, it hasn't'?
