First off, happy christmas, guys! Second off, sorry for not being around, life has been pretty manic for the last few - well, months. I hope everyone's well and happy, and has had a good day today!

Season 3:
Something about Uther, I think it was about Morgana? IDK, I didn't care.
Gaius gets possessed by a goblin! but that's a filler episode. Actually there are a couple of filler episodes (princess possessed by a changeling, Merlin sees the future, Gwen is kidnapped to some castle somewhere, we meet Elyan [!! he's so cute!] Morgana tries to foil the rescue, but the rescue happens anyway, Gaius' old love comes back to Camelot and tries to kill him, Morgana tries to sabotage Gwen and Arthur's relationship by showing Uther A&G on a date, a twatface called Gilli tries to win a tournament using magic but Merlin convinces him not to or something, idk, I hated him).
Main point of season 3 was Gwaine! Merlin's other love. He helps Arthur and Merlin in a barfight and comes back to Camelot but then gets banished. Then later on Gwaine and Merlin help Arthur complete his quest (which was actually more important for Merlin, but obvs Arthur didn't know that).
Morgana and Morgause take over Camelot for a while.
Season 4:
The Dorocha happens and Lancelot dies, but Arthur et al take back Camelot.
Filler episode, then Merlin goes on a quest to save the last dragon egg and so we get a new dragon called Aithusa, but she's little and doesn't talk.
Arthur does something stupid and then does something noble to fix it and prevent war with Queen Annis.
Morgana mind-controls Merlin into attacking Arthur, but Merlin is crap and doesn't manage to kill him, then the spell is broken somehow.
Morgana uses this dude Alator to torture Gaius into revealing who Emrys is, but then Alator switches sides (???? WHO KNOWS WHY) and suddenly Alator won't tell Morgana that Emrys is Merlin, IDK, but Gaius was still all tortured.
Boring filler episode with a lamia, the knights are shitty to Merlin and Gwen and don't even apologise.
Morgana re-animates Lancelot and he seduces Gwen with a magic bracelet and then Gwen is banished and Lancelot dies again?? Merlin burns the body this time, and I imagine would have salted the ground but they sent him off in a boat so.
Elyan gets haunted by the ghost of a little boy that Arthur let die, bla bla, Arthur makes a noble speech, saves the day.
Gwen has to warn Camelot about an attack by Morgana and some dude Helios (but gets turned into a deer??). Morgana and Helios take over Camelot for a bit and Arthur's super sad because Daddy's dead and Gwen was mean and gosh, isn't his life haaaard. But then somehow he gets his courage back, IDK. THEY SAVE THE DAY and Morgana nearly dies but Aithusa in a wonderful show of deus ex machina SAVES MORGANAAAAA and so we have our foe for series 5!
And that's what happened before whatever timeskip happened to bring about season 5.
