just rewatched frank herbert's dune
in anticipation for borrowing children of dune from brand (yeah, i havent gotten to see it all--yet, dammit). discovered a couple of things--the commercials are widely frikkin spaced throughout that dam series, plus they make up almost an hours worth of television time. also rediscovered the fact that, despite many people's bickerings about the costumes, i really like them--even irulan's dress with all the butterflies. and the funny hats. want very much to get the director's cut dvd with half an hour of new (to me at this point, at least) footage. prolly save some money and go get them both on may 20 when children comes out.
read like a hundred or so pages this morning/afternoon in the gormenghast novels--am only a hundred pages away from the end of the second book, now. also still plugging away (albeit erratically) at gravity's rainbow. i wonder what i should do for my next reading project--anyone have any suggestions?
oh, to have all the money i need for the toys i want. . .
