Day one: revamp homepage

I've finally gotten around to revamping my homepage. I need a new photograph, one more amenable to black-on-white-en-ing.

Any thoughts or feedback on the new look and feel?

It's the same as the old one: the Rosetta Stone, with a blob of me reflected in the glass surrounding it.

It occurred to me during my nap today what i'm really going for: lithoprint feel. So, i've been mulling over what makes litho feel like litho, and i'm getting there. Now to just figure out how to make images have those features...

btw, as a browser developer, i can assure you: xhtml is dead. it's just wasted bytes to put in all the extra slashes. browsers just parse it as weirdly-written html anyway.
