Bellies for Life
Belly babes, C-U peeps and anyone else interested in belly dance or Relay for Life:
I *just* got the e-mail - Bellies for Life 2007 is ON! The show is March 10 at the Highdive. I hope to have at least 1 dance to perform, maybe more. I plan on being there. A bit of background infor below. And here's my post about last year's Bellies for Life, with pics.

As most of you know, Reflections Dance Co. and Pangea Dance Studio have a new baby.
This baby is called Bellies For Life and will be 1 year old in March.
This baby is a story about Love, Friendship, Hope, Life and the Future.
I would like to ask you, as a member of the belly dance community in Champaign-Urbana area, as a friend, to forward on the following message, regarding Bellies For Life. Please help us nurture our baby. Help us help ourselves as a community.
About Love: in the Summer of 2005, Nicole, my friend, my teacher, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Sadly enough, each one of us knows someone who was diagnosed with breast cancer. I will quote Annie Ray
(a lead dancer at the Pangea Dance studio, where I am belly dancing for over 2 years now) once again:
"This has shown us, that breast cancer can strike those closest to us: the faces of breast cancer are the faces of our mothers, sisters, our friends and our teachers. I think it is time that we put our bellies (and our hips and our b*****s) to work for cancer research."
In March 2006 the studio produced a showcase of various belly dancers, benefiting cancer research. Nicole is still battling breast cancer and Pangea Dance Studio dancers are still showing their love, friendship and support.
About Hope: Last March Bellies For Life raised $1500. But we know that more than that was raised: Bellies For Life raised breast cancer awareness. Bellies For Life raised belly dance awareness with the variety of dancers performing and the variety of types of dances showcased. The HighDive contributed the space - and the place was packed! This year, we hope to raise even more in Dollars. This year we hope to have more performers in the program and more variety.
About Life: I am inviting you to join us for an evening of fun, entertainment and dance. You are invited to celebrate Life, to raise Hope for others, for the future of our children.
About the Future: You are probably asking yourself: What can I do? How can I help?
The answer is simple:
1. Reserve the date - March 10, 2007 (evening - exact time TBA)
2. Tell others: Do not be afraid of mass mailing. Tell your friends, co-workers and neighbors! Although this is not a chain letter (there are no life threatening consequences if you don't forward this on to at least 5 people within the next 5 minutes) PLEASE don't break the chain and forward this email.
3. When the time comes - show up at the HighDive (Yes! They are hosting the even again!)
